A subscription should be procured for every entity where a social media presence exists i.e. A HQ, Regiment or Corps is unable to share DMT® access or downloaded content with higher formation, subordinate or peer units if a distinct social media channel exists, unless a multi-entity, Enterprise (blanket) solution has been negotiated and procured. Please contact us directly if you are under any doubt prior to purchasing a licence.
I want to procure multiple licences on behalf of my organisation.
We offer Enterprise-wide (blanket) solutions for organisations wishing to procure multiple licences for sub-entities, or multi-site locations, at a significant cost saving. Please get in touch to discuss your requirements.
Do you offer single track licensing?
The DMT® operates on a subscription only model. This represents the best possible value for regular content creators in comparison to single track licensing.
Can I use DMT® Music for a theatrical release?
Under the terms of a DMT® PRO licence, music can be used for student and independent films with budgets of less than £20k. For all other film projects, including theatrical release, please contact us directly to arrangement a bespoke licence agreement.
Other libraries offer more content, do you plan to increase the size of the catalogue?
Our commitment to you is about saving time and increasing your productivity. We will not add poor quality, irrelevant music that has little conceivable use in the Defence Sector for the sake of 'track count'. Our aim is to remain 'boutique' in nature, however grow our catalogue by releasing new content on a weekly basis. We also encourage customers to get in touch regarding their aspirations for the library - let us know what you want to hear more of, and we will write it.
Am I able to use DMT® music & sound design in virtual training environments?
Yes, this is permissible under the terms of a PRO licence subscription.
What are the limitations of using music for TV or Radio broadcast under the terms of the PRO licence?
None. Our only stipulation is that a cue sheet is submitted to a PRO (PRS in the UK) prior to a programme airing on network. DMT® will provide you with the relevant information, including composer/publisher % distributions on request. Please visit our dedicated cue sheet page to find out more including a sample cue sheet for your use.
Do I need to submit cue sheets for social media or video sharing platform releases under the Digital licence?
No, cue sheet submission is not applicable under those terms and only relevant for PRO licence holders where DMT® music is used for broadcast on radio, TV or advertising.
Are there any hidden costs to the PRO Licence given the need to submit cue sheets?
No. Submitting a cue sheet should be a familiar procedure for most production companies and broadcasters. There are no additional costs, it merely ensures the composer/publisher receives royalties directly from the PRO (PRS in the UK) when a show is broadcast on radio or television. If your production requires a cue sheet then please contact us directly and we will provide the information required. When submitting cue sheets to a PRO, please copy any correspondence to info@defencemusictoolkit.com.
Should I be worried about Content ID strikes?
No. Unlike larger subscription libraries, the music in our catalogue is not registered with a third-party rights management company. Unfortunately the digital finger printing technology used in detection software is still evolving and hence errors can be returned. In the unlikely event you incorrectly receive a content ID strike then please let us know immediately and we will work with you and the platform in question in order to get it removed.
How can I pay for my subscription?
When signing up for a DMT® subscription you will be directed to our preferred payment system 'Stripe' where you can pay by debit/credit card. Alternatively we can arrange for you to be invoiced for payment via bank transfer.
What happens to my content if I let my subscription lapse?
Any content using DMT® material that was created whilst the subscription was live may continue to be posted on any channel provided it is within the terms of the original licence. The use of any downloaded DMT® material for projects created, published and distributed after the licence has lapsed is prohibited.
I want to use a DMT® track in my game and release it on Steam. Am I able to do this?
Yes. The terms of a PRO subscription allow for DMT® music to be used by indie game developers in games and apps distributed via app stores and streaming services such as Steam. Your customers will be able to publish Twitch streams to YouTube without fear of Content ID strikes. No additional costs or catches.
